bugs

Annike's love for bugs did not come from me. I have a mean case of hereditary arachnophobia, inherited from my mother. However, the world of the creepy and crawly does go well with life on a farm. Her favorites are ladybugs, snails, and worms. I don't know how to spell the noise of excitement that comes out of her mouth when she sees these wiggling creatures, but it sounds just like you might imagine it from the look on her face in this picture:

To find these insects, try playing in grass taller than you...

Strange to be more afraid of a baby bunny than the bugs!

Just over a year ago, Daddy started developing this facination using salamanders...

Here is Annike with the salamanders today... she cried hard the next day when I told her I didn't have one she could play with.

At one year old, who wouldn't love a little dirt, and a little fun on a farm?
